My wife Ruth was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993. After
a long and courageous battle, she passed away in March of 2005, leaving behind a legacy of dignity and determination that our family, including our children, Regina, 22, Christopher, 21, and Jason, 18, will never forget.
From the very beginning, people sent hand-written notes of encouragement and support. These notes meant so much to all of us, but it was especially comforting to know that people were thinking of Ruth and showing their support during this difficult time. She received hundreds - 8 binders full - from friends, neighbors and people from church. She read each of them eagerly and was touched deeply by their messages.
